Specialization

At the Faculty of Chemistry, students have the opportunity to pursue their studies in two distinct fields: Chemical Technology and Biotechnology. The curriculum follows a two-stage system, with engineering studies spanning 7 semesters followed by master's studies lasting either 3 or 4 semesters.

In the initial stage of their education, students in both fields don't pursue separate specializations. Instead, they have the flexibility to select subjects tailored to their interests, preparing them for their engineering diploma thesis in their chosen field.

For second-degree studies, candidates are required to select a specific specialization upon admission.

In the Chemical Technology field, there are six specialization options available:

  1. Functional polymer and high-energy materials,
  2. Chemical technology and catalysis,
  3. Analytics and physicochemistry of processes and materials,
  4. Medicinal chemistry,
  5. Nanomaterials and nanotechnologies,
  6. Energy conversion and storage technologies.

In the Biotechnology field, students can choose from the following specializations:

  1. Industrial biotechnology,
  2. Medical biotechnology,
  3. Chemical biotechnology – Pharmaceuticals and cosmetics,
  4. Applied biotechnology (offered in English).
