Biotechnology and Chemical Technology are once again ranked as the best engineering university courses in Poland in the Perspektywy monthly ranking

Perspektywy educational monthly has published annual Engineering University Courses Ranking 2018. Our Biotechnology and Chemical Technology courses have been ranked as the best engineering university courses in their respective categories. Biotechnology course hold the title as the best Biotechnology course in Poland for the second year in the row, while Chemical Technology Course holds the title as the best Chemical Technology course for the sixth time in the row, keeping the title since the establishing of the ranking (since individual engineering courses are ranked).

Rose aroma - invention from WUT - awarded with silver medal on the International Invention Show

Manufacturing method of the natural rose aroma (2-phenylethanol) with use of yeast developed by Jolanta Mierzejewska PhD and Karolina Chreptowicz PhD, Eng from the Chair of Drug and Cosmetics Biotechnology, Faculty of Chemistry, Warsaw University of Technology, has been awarded with Silver Medal at the International Warsaw Inventions Show - IWIS 2018. Participation in the Show has been financed by „KEPP - Commercialization – effective, friendly and professional” project conducted under „Innovations Incubator +” programme as a non-call Ministry of Science and Higher Education project co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under Smart Growth Operational Programme. Show has taken place on October 15-17, 2018. Invention has been presented by the employees of the Commercialisation and Technology Transfer Department of the Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer Management of Warsaw University of Technology.

Gold Medal awarded to Invention from the Warsaw University of Technology at the Taiwan Innotech Expo 2018

Prototype of the vibroisolator based on the shear thickening fluids for buildings protection against seismic shocks application developed by the team of employees and PhD students of the Faculty of Chemistry and of the Faculty of Materials Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology working under supervision of Prof. Mikołaj Szafran, PhD DSc Eng, Prof. Gabriel Rokicki, PhD DSc Eng and Prof. Marcin Leonowicz PhD, DSc, Eng has been awarded with Gold Medal at the International Fair Taiwan Innotech Expo, held on August 27-29, 2018 in Taipei, Taiwan. Inventors' team has been represented by Łukasz Wierzbicki, PhD Eng and Małgorzata Głuszek, MSc Eng.

Kierunki Biotechnologia i Technologia Chemiczna najlepszymi kierunkami inżynierskimi w rankingu Perspektyw

Perspektywy educational monthly published annual Engineering University Courses Ranking 2017. Our Biotechnology and Chemical Technology courses have been ranked as the best engineering university courses in their respective categories. Chemical Technology course holds the title of the best chemical technology course in Poland for the fifth time in the row!

Our Faculty among the best in Poland again!

On June 8 Perspektywy Educational monthly has published Higher Education Ranking and Study Course Ranking 2016.
Chemical Technology course at Faculty of Chemistry, WUT has won among all 15 faculties in Poland and it was the fourth time it has been awarded as the best study course in 'Chemical Technology and Engineering' category.
Biotechnology course at Faculty of Chemistry, WUT held 4. place among technical universitiesin 'Biotechnology' category.

Prof. Janusz Lewiński elected Royal Society of Chemistry Fellow

Prof. Janusz Lewiński was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC). FRSC title is given annually to ca. 40 scientists who have made significant contribution to the chemical sciences.

Golden Chalk for Aldona Zalewska, PhD, DSc, Eng. and Prof. Janusz Zachara, PhD, DSc, Eng.

By decision of faculty student's body, this year's Golden Chalk for outstanding conducting classes went to: Prof. Janusz Zachara, PhD, DSc, Eng. in lectures category and to Aldona Zalewska, PhD, DSc, Eng. in exercises, laboratories and projects category. Awards were given at the ceremony commemorating 100th anniversary of Warsaw University of Technology tradition renewal. Congratulations!

Michał Młotek, PhD, Eng. of CT Dept. designed reactor for enrichment of biogas used for electricity generation

Michał Młotek, PhD, Eng. of the Laboratory of Plasma Processes, Department of Chemical Technology, is the main contractor for the contract agreement between Faculty of Chemistry, Warsaw University of Technology and INSTAL Rzeszów company. The agreement includes design and construction of the industrial experimental reactor for enrichment of biogas used for electricity generation. Upon performing tests on the finished reactor, INSTAL Rzeszów company plans to start serial manufacturing of such plasma reactors for biogas-works.

Minister of Defence awarded consortium with our faculty members participation

On May 21st, 2014 in Polish Army Conference Center, during 7th Scientific-Industrial Conference on Defense Techniques and Technology Research Paweł Maksimowski, PhD, DSc, Eng. and Tomasz Gołofit, PhD, Eng. of the Department of High-Energetic Materials were awarded by Polish Minister of Defense, Mr Tomasz Siemoniak, with I degree award in the 2nd The best Research and Scientific Work in Defense Field for work titled "Elaboration of production technology for novel, high-energetic and low-sensitive explosives". The work was performed by consortium consisting of WAT, Warsaw University of Technology, „Nitrochem” industrial plant in Bydgoszcz and Bumar.
