PhD student Aleksandra Rudzka, MSc, receives a scholarship from the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program NEW
Aleksandra Rudzka, MSc, from the Chair of Drug and Cosmetics Biotechnology at the Faculty of Chemistry, Warsaw University of Technology, received a scholarship from the L'Oréal For Women in Science program in the doctoral category.
The award-winning work concerned the use of enzymatic reactions in the biocatalytic synthesis of chiral building blocks with high added value.
The awards were presented during the 25th anniversary gala, which took place on November 19 in Warsaw at the Museum of Polish History. The event was attended by the program's partners: representatives of the Polish National Commission for UNESCO, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Polish Academy of Sciences, and UN Global Compact Network Poland, emphasizing the importance and social significance of the initiative.
The aim of the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program is to support outstanding young female researchers and motivate them to further their scientific careers. This year's competition received 389 applications, from which 8 winners were selected.
L'Oréal, as the founder of the award, granted four postdoctoral fellowships, three doctoral fellowships and one master's fellowship. In addition, each of the researchers was honoured with a special award from the Minister of Science and Higher Education for participation in an international scientific conference abroad.
